INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMME

International Volunteer Program

Capacity Building in International Exchange Programs International exchange programs – moving people across borders for volunteer work, seminars, capacity development, educational, professional, or cultural purposes—connect an ever-widening circle of the global citizens with their counterparts around the world. Exchange programs create opportunities: opportunities for participants to learn, to prosper, and to work with others to solve shared problems and ensure a secure future. Exchanges create future leaders who instinctively appreciate the value of international collaboration, unity, peace, understanding, empathy, and appreciating different cultures. CAVAfrica is currently actively involved in the exchange programs in capacity development in South Africa (S.A), Ghana, Rwanda and United States of America. We do this to make our volunteer experiences better for all.

The African Continent faces economic uncertainties, democratic problems, and ongoing threats to national security. Meeting these challenges requires smart power strategies that rebuild strong international partnerships rooted economic drivers hunkered on the people, “the people driven governance and economy”. By enabling citizens from different countries, student, teacher, scholar, and volunteers to experience other countries and communities and citizens firsthand—and by allowing other nationalities to experience foreign communities and citizens in the same way—exchanges are a critical support to official our countries diplomacy and an essential part of building international relationships for the future. In our programmatic areas, we also organize bench making exercises.

Benchmarking is a common practice and sensible exercise to establish baselines, define best practices, identify improvement opportunities and create a competitive environment within the organization and help in giving the participants competitive advantage in their fields of endeavors. Integrating benchmarking into our organization results in valuable data that encourages discussion and sparks new ideas and practices.

WHICH SKILLS ARE NEEDED?

Volunteerism is a service that requires a wide range of skills. This can be simple skills like training or caring for children to complex tasks like coming up with policies and structures to promote the concept of volunteerism in the African continent legislatively. In essence, everyone has a skill and a thing to offer. .
